No. they didn't want to remove any of them. :p And yet IOC is pushing the equality, so there was only one option really...

I'd definitely keep 200 and 4x200, one of the best events.

No way 4x200 is better than 4x100.

i think that 800m will go some day as 4x200 both gender relays - i`d prefer one 4x200 freestyle mixed relay or one 4x200 mixed styles+gender relay

if they keep 4x200 freestyle relays maybe 200m ind is too much

Just now, Pavlo said:

so you prefer 2 separate 4x200 freestyle relays?

I prefer no 4x200 relays, but if that's no option, then yes, 2 separate would definitely have my choice over a mixed. There is already an insane amount of mixed events in sports, it really doesn't need anymore. (I know there will be more, but it's not needed, at all)

i also prefer no 4x200

but as the opposite i`m quite a fan of mixed events if they are to replace too many "team events", not if they are doubling number of events only

I went to the arena Sunday and today (monday), evening sessions, it was quite crowded, mostly Hungarians (special for today, probably because mid Hosszu).

Great experience!

It looked pretty empty in the morning to me, maybe TV just didnt show the right areas of the arena. I agree that it was quite full in the evening, so maybe "pretty empty" is not what it was, but i just expected that at least all the evening sessions would be sold out, considering how crazy hungarian people are for this sport. That is also why i asked whether maybe the tickets were too expensive ... ?

I know that i might be a bit unfair here, because there seem to be more spectators than in many of the last couple of world championships, but for me it was no question that the stadium would be full every night.

I think we all would like to see some of your pictures (and videos?), would be great if you could upload them some time later.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Italian TV commentators talked of more than 6/7000 spectators (the arena has 12000 seats) in all the morning sections before today...

in the afternoon the stands are always almost full..the only empty seats are those in front of the diving pool (probably from that angle it's impossible to follow the swimming events) and the stripe just above the swimmers' stand, where VIP seats are located (and I guess that those seats are in any case sold out, just the owners show up only once every while when it's their particular interest)...

if compared to other world champs, this year we're having a really good audience in all the pools (and also at Balaton Lake for the Open Water Swimming there were a lot of people both on the stands in front of the finish lane and on the beaches beside the course)...

It is not normal how France is bad.

If you were around 15 years ago, it's sounds very normal

Our past 10 years results have been achieved by a very limited pool of great athlets. Once, they're gone, we're back to nowhere

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
    • Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
