Just yesterday did I see Lowell Bailey of all people become world champion...

That's still nothing compared to medals won by Schmidhofer, Aerni, Leitinger, Haugen, Caviezel, Osborne-Paradis and Venier.

Oh come on, putting Haugen in that list is just not fair 

 

He's been a rather consistent top-15 skier for a couple of years already including two 4th places this season, taking a medal was just bound to happen
