The rule was (different from what I was thinking) top-10 in the qualifying race plus under 180 points on the FIS list (so not specifically in the qualifying race), but even so, Ponya being a biathlete doesn't have those points. Weird. I’ve told this story before, but about a decade back most commentators did not realise that the Kaisa Mäkäräinen who competed on the Biathlon Tour & the Kaisa Maekaeraeinin who competed on the Cross Country Tour were the same person.
