Even more so when the resulting winner is someone who lost a whole lot of time due to failing in the echelons, but then clawed it back bit by bit with attacking while basically having nobody to help him (besides De la Cruz - a little bit - and the opponent's team ), followed by going into the do-or-die time trial like an absolute madman and managing to just not collapse at all

And Tour de l'Avenir the year before. With not Tour of California this year, everything is set for a Norwegian winner next year!
