A couple of weeks ago, I had a dream FINA changed the programme to mostly obscure events and it featured a 6x12m Butterfly Relay.

:roflmao:

As for 50km, I'm not surprised that such decision was made completely out of public.

That seems to be quite a thing for any sport federation, putting forward major changes out of nowhere.

Yep..nothing against GB specifically, but I'm very disappointed with this. It'd be different if he was Jamaican or something, but now a tiny nation with outsider medal chances basically has no chances anymore.

If we're going to change the 20k to 21k and a bit, I've got another idea: why not scrap the 1500 meters and add the 1520 meters? Might as well take the 3000m steeplechase out and add the much more interesting 3043,5m steeplechase :)

Marathon is 42,195 km (5,4875% more than 40km), so I suppose these should be the correct distances

105,4875 m

116,03625 m hurdles

210,975 m

421,95 m

843,9 m

1582,3125 m

3164,625 m steeplechase

5274,375 m

10548,75 m

Let's send this to IAAF, sounds like a great idea :d

I'm curious to know what they're going to do with Track Cycling.

Maybe they will axe another endurance event and replace it with Flying Lap. :d

Race walking, really weird sport and totally boring in my opinion . But that is a question of taste.

I think it will be a good decision and actually would not mind kicking it out completely.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
