Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026 Broadcasting

Recommended Posts

So in :IND and maybe most of the countries where broadcast is not available:

Figure Skating and Alpine Skiing will be shown live (all events) on YouTube and Olympic Channel.

Snowboarding Finals, Ice Hockey and Curling Medal Matches will also be shown.

Nothing of any other sports including Biathlon, Ski Jumping, Cross Country Skiing, Sliding sports, Short Track, Free Ski etc.

That´s relly bad and sad.

They speak about growning the Olympics and make them available to bigger audiences and blah blah... but it´s just pure crap as usual.

This is one of the things why I really hate the newer IOC policy agenda since Bach.

It was much better before, now they are just killing the OG for money, money and money

First look at the Olympics graphics

This teal/turquoise color has always been my favorite, so I might be a little biased, but I really like this graphics package. The subtle animation behind the headers is very cool. The amount of information shown in the graphics during the downhill training is impressive. The shapes and fonts are all easy to read so far, imo.

Beijing to compare:

Back to green like Pyeongchang. Font looks mostly identical, but spacing between letters is tighter, i think.

No animated snow fall! :hairpull:

Also: "Olympic Winter Games TM" looks weird.

Ok how about VPN? Do we have countries where events are available FTA and without registration?

How about :NOR

I will explore VPNs but I know a lot of people will not put that effort but might have just watched few hours of the games or more, which is no longer a possibility now.

The fact that this is happening in 2026 is surprising it used to happen in early 2010s after that all major multi sport games have got good streaming.

I asked the support team to at least show us a few more sports to which I got a reply that it is not possible at the moment. So unless miraculously some broadcaster steps in I'll mostly use a VPN. Pity because a lot of people do watch it - at least the Olympic Games; if not regularly.

Now I can't unsee that TM... it is really annoying, and makes the IOC seem really petty.

    • This could be the last ever Paralympics. Come 2028 it might well not be held because the IPC has split in two. That’s one legacy for Andrew Parsons.    He could simply ignore CAS or even withdraw the IPC from them. Unless he is worried about falling from his hotel room window or is being blackmailed.
