Peacock Stadium isn't a in your face corporate name, im not surprised that was approved.

Looks like Diving is getting a different venue than previously advertised.

"Today, the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games proposed to relocate Diving to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in the Venue City of Pasadena...The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center offers an existing world class pool that meets Olympic Diving standards and requires fewer improvements in order to host Diving in 2028."

 

Looks like the other one (Exposition Park, where they held it in 1932) had some safety concerns.  From SwimSwam: 'World Aquatics “advised” LA28 that the pool does not meet the Olympic Diving standards due to athlete safety concerns of pool width and depth, orientation of the diving towers towards the sun, and inadequate clearance behind the towers.'

This is much closer to downtown LA than Bonelli park (the previously presumed location) would be.  I don't know this particular location, but it is a very hilly area generally so could be a good choice.

tbh, if they add the cross-country race (or even if they replace the 10km on the track with cc race) to the Summer Olympics, I've nothing against it

 

it's the "classic" races and field events outside the stadium that I'm totally against

 

not to mention the farce of judo/any other indoor discipline switching to the Winter Games...I don't even want to comment such stupid possibility

Additional venues have been announced for Football (Soccer).

 

The preliminary and knockout stages will be held at:

• New York Stadium in the New York Zone, stadium to be completed in 2027 
• Columbus Stadium in the Columbus Zone 
• Nashville Stadium in the Nashville Zone
• St. Louis Stadium in the St. Louis Zone
• San José Stadium in the San José Zone
• San Diego Stadium in the San Diego Zone

 

Final matches will be held at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles.

 

The schedule for both the women’s and men’s Football (Soccer) tournaments, including the dates and match distribution per stadium, will be announced before the first ticket drop in April 2026.
