This is just a one time adventure no worries, in 4 years we will have the mixed doubles instead. The pattern is set up. I know the IOCs, not going to fool me :p

Wouldn’t a mixed 4 Large Hil make sense. To match the mixed normal hill.

I really don't understand why all the ski jumping eventshave to be held in the evening? Today was a full day off from 13 to 19.00, when the weather was nice, they plan everything for the evening, when there's no time to postpone the series due to bad weather.

In 2018, they dragged the competition for almost 3 hours in freezing temperatures and now a little snow and it's over? Especially since it stopped snowing 15 minutes later... Well done, Pertile!

Viewing figures. The evening is peak time in Europe and yet doesn’t feel that busy.

Just around 2000, when I started watching ski jumping, 90% of competitions were held during the perfect natural light time: around 1-2 pm- only in Scandinavia were they later afternnon/evening. Now the proportions are reversed, with maybe 10% of competitions taking are earlier in day. Honestly, I have a greater sentiment for that old days.

I'm a bit late, but so proud for our team.

Domen Prevc could become only ski jumper in history to achieve Big Slam, winning 7 biggest prizes, Nykaenen missing on Ski Flying Crystal Globe and Kraft missing on Olympic Golds.

So,...

World Champion

World Flying Champion

Flying Crystal Globe

4 Hills Tournament

World Record

Olympic Champion

Now we wait only for World Cup Overall :)

And all that in just one year. :popcorn:

EDIT: I have to be honest, this were informations from our national broadcaster site. But yes, in earlier times they did not award Flying globes, should have done it, Nykaenen would easily got it in 1983 and 1984. So Domen will hopefully become second in history with clean sweep, but all in 1 year, remarkable.

Looks like Pogacar will have to win everything basically this year to have a chance to be Sportsperson of the year. :d

    • Sablikova started on the road cycling and just almost qualified for Rio 2016. Maybe Lollobrigida would like to join the Italian track team? She has the good character and 2 medals at the Olympics, one in winter and one in summer, would be a legendary achievement, not only in Italy.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Sáblíková
    • One Wiebes is worth more than the all Italian team with Balsamo/Fidanza, etc., that much clear. Even if the Netherlands loses its dominance in the men's sprint, Wiebes will win 2-3 gold medals in other events. Just relax, man.
    • I'm most worried about our women's team in the pursuit – we have a reserve squad, but not advancing to the top 8 is a shame. We recently competed with out 1 team and had not good in 1 round. It doesn't look good. And the Netherlands are already taking Wiebes to the track team and will soon dominate the Madison/Omnium as well. Balsamo and Paternoster haven't made any progress for years and the our women's team at the Olympics has little chance to win a medal. Italy might even win World Championship/European Championship gold in the years after the Olympics, etc., but when the real fight comes, the UK or the USA will always beat us
    • Track cycling is one of the few sports where there is no host nation quota, so  will need to work hard to achieve our quotas.  It's not our best sport, but was happy to see Top 10 results in the Elimination Race for Grant Koontz and Emma Jimenez Palos (who is just 18!).
    • Yes, I saw the same thing you did @clemsonbeav (on both accounts) but I agree it looks pretty stock.
    • Also, I just logged back into my account, where it sent me to update my profile, and when I saved that, I got a screen that included a check mark next to 'Registered for the Draw'.  Not sure I totally trust it, but it does at least say so.  (There's nothing specifically referencing Drop 2 or anything...might just be a stock screen.). I'm curious what it would look like if you looked at it @esube.  https://tickets.la28.org/
    • I didn't buy any tickets, but didn't get the e-mail.   We bought tickets on my wife's account (earlier timeslot), but not 12, and she got the e-mail.

    • I am very curious.  We got extremely lucky in the first ticket drop, both my and my wife's emails were selected for relatively early time slots-- early enough that we bought our full allotment of tickets for good stuff.  Not swimming or gymnastics of course, but we were really pleased,  d   But today I received an email on one of those accounts saying that we were entered into the second drop because we hadn't used up our 12 ticket allotment.  I went back and counted-- twice-- and yes, we certainly did purchase 12 tickets on that account.      I am not sure I want any more!  Did this happen to anybody else?
