The kind of crazy Olympic curse that the Canadian women are under in short track continues (no gold medal at the Olympics since 1998).

Two different :NED short track skaters have as many individual golds as :CAN, :CHN and :KOR have golds combined T.T

And I might be the case at the end of the Games. They have 4 more shots, though the women's relay is the most likely.

I don't really see them winning 3 or more golds in speed skating. From most to least likely : wMS > wTP >> w1500 >>> mMS >>>> m1500 >> mTP

We’ll take the medals where we can find them

Niels Kerstholt succeeded the very succesfull Jeroen Otter as National Coach after the Beijing Olympics.Otter became national coach in 2010, and slowly returned Dutch short track skating to the top, winning three Olympic titles.

At the beginning Kerstholt was heavily criticised by veteran Sjinkie Knegt, our first Olympic medaillist in 2014, and more veiled by Suzanne Schulting, our first Olympic champion in 2018. I probably was not the only one who expected the dismissal of Kerstholt. But at the 2023 World championships in Seoul his team won 5 World titles and his position was secure. Now Knegt has retired and Schulting has resettled to long track skating.

    • I hope they can kick teqball and convince the North Koreans to play the real deal  (very unlikely, I know(   Obstacle racing on the other hand, it should be a compulsory sport of the ABG
    • Lasting 2 Weeks and including 24 sports    I bet Beach Sepaktakraw(including their favourite Chinlone, Hoop), Water Skiing, Arnis, Floorball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Underwater Hockey, Boxing and a few martial arts (Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc)   Obstacle Racing also should make the cut.
    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
