It would be one thing if the H2H between them was close, but Homan was 10-1 over Hassleborg the past few seasons

Homan really has trouble with the Olympics. 4 olympic tournaments and this is still her best achievement even they would lose the bronze game

It's 3, but yes. Very unfortunate considering it isn't always her fault, and the fact that she's probably going to receive lots of hate messages from this. After being so dominant in women's curling, I thought this was her chance to redeem herself. Nope.

Really hope she can come out firing for bronze, she needs it for her confidence. And to add to Canada's abysmal medal total.

Forgot Jones played 2022, ofc! They really deserve to finally medal this time.

also Tirinzoni/Pätz have struggled a lot in there olympic history so well deserved that they also have a medal now

Thank you :yes

Of course you know who I'll be rooting for in the final, go :SWE Hassleborg :cheer:(although seeing Tirinzoni/Patz win gold in what is likely to be their final Olympics would be fitting, it would also mean Hassleborg collects the full collection of Olympic medals)

If we’re going by the track record of the mixed doubles tournament where the group stage result was flipped in every playoff match:

Sweden beats Canada, Swiss beats US. Canada bronze, Sweden silver, Swiss gold.

For the sake of a US medal I’m looking for only repeats

Semis went exactly this way. I'm no bettor but I'll stick with this prediction

At this point it’s hard to imagine there isn’t something quite wrong with her approach or mindset. I remember listening to her pre-games interview with Inside Curling and something about her whole demeanor just did not inspire confidence.

This is just as an outsider, but it seems like she has no fun playing. Every successful skip I've seen in Canada and beyond seem to have some fun during games, but I've never seen her smile or crack a joke or even just relax. I found the same about Koe in 2018. Obviously, sometimes it's all business, but I think you probably have to loosen up sometimes.

I will say, today in the semi-final, Rachel was completely hung out to dry by Fluery. Tracy was awful, and forced Rachel to make some very difficult shots. But the best in the world should be able to make at least some of those shots sometimes, and she didn't. They both finished at 68%, which is not elite at all.
