That's for sure. There were opportunities both in Tokyo and Paris. The main thing is that track cyclist Valente staged the same scenario in both Tokyo and Paris, overtaking at the last moment. But I think the United States missed too many gold medal opportunities in Paris and Tokyo, which created some chances for us. In Tokyo's athletics, I think the US didn't meet expectations, and in Paris, their swimming gold medals didn't reach double digits. Jens Weinreich is kind of a loudmouth, but he does know his things about what's going on in sports politics. And it does have kind of the same issues as canoe slalom in the summer games (expensive venue that a lot of countries wouldn't use after the Games) -

Actually, there might be some truth to the rumor... https://duncanmackayveritas.substack.com/p/the-cappuccino-edition-16-bobsleigh But it seems the only argument given is about the cost of the venue. So 2030 and 2034 should be fine. I encourage everyone to subscribe to it (you can cancel for free before 7 days), there are lots of stuff about future olympic programs that people are not going to like. -

That would be insane, cant see it happening. There's already a sliding track in La Plagne basically ready for Olympic competition so it doesn't make any sense. Getting rid of a historic sport like bobsleigh would surely also get a lot of backlash despite the German domination. -

However, the fight for 1st place is probably more important: USA-China in Paris 2024, or Beijing 2008 and first China's victory. -
