p.s. but, what about all those football matches on the same day of the Opening Ceremony?

will all be played in the morning local time? (almost all of them being in California, so they do not even benefit from the time zones difference)

Interestingly, not all the medal matches are in LA...the bronze medal matches are in San Diego...so we effectively have 3 cities that will host medal events (if we condense all of the LA metro area into 1 'city').

I get 5.5 weeks off but taking 3 weeks off at one time needs a bit of planning in terms of making sure my workload is covered. It’s possible as I took 3 weeks off last year but having 2 weeks off is always more manageable. Plus it leaves a nice bit of time to take other holidays throughout the year too
