M8+ and W8+ are a flop with only a few countries competing throw the year and little entries at the Olympics. It would be a great idea to take them out of the games to create more quotas for other events.

So take out the glamour, the panache, the coat of arms and throw in some more opium for the people.

You, certainly, are not the brightest star in the galaxy, my son

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

Fitsiou/Kontou win silver in W2X, so close to winning gold :hyper:

They also won silver together in 2023 and 2024, but both times in LW2X. Although the field didn't seem the strongest, to transition to W2X and still win medals is very impressive.

On the other hand, our men who switched from LM2X to M2X only got 11th place.

Beware, Radis and Bodnar will be back in W2x next year :p

Congrats for Fitsiou/Kontou, though :)

I was surprised to see that they broke up but now it makes sense!

Silver for Ntouskos in M1X for the 4th year in a row. I was really hoping he could finally win gold, especially with no Zeidler here this year.

Anastasiadou got 4th in W1X. She also won 3 silvers in a row, in three different events (2022 W1X, 2023 LW1X, 2024 W2-).

So in the end we had 2 silver medals here. We didn't send a women's pair as Christina Bourmpou was competing in the NCAA Championships this year. I wonder who will be pairing up with her, maybe Varvara Lykomitrou as they will both be attending Yale University and Lykomitrou already has a bunch of U19 gold medals in W1X and W2X but now will be competing in sweep events at Yale.

M8+ and W8+ are not the brightest stars in the galaxy either. What glamour? lmao

They are, without question, the blue riband events in the sport . That you seem not to know that suggests your expertise in the area is limited, and your advice unlikely to be useful.

Eights were and even now are most important events of the Games alltogether.

Tradition is obviously irrelevant for younger generations but it actually means something, no matter what someone thinks about it.

I mean tradition is the only reason why it's still in the program (besides being interesting to watch). I still give the event a pass for the "12 nation minimum per event" requirement I give because it is so integral.

With that said, the event would never be added today. We have only around a dozen nations competing seriously and that would never fly in this climate.
