Couple of bits of news

:FIN 100m hurdler Nooralotta Neziri is out  after a training accident in the Preparation Camp in :JPN yesterday

:GBR Roger Black, now officially the Double* World 4x400m Gold Medal winner, has a daughter Isabelle who is in Tokyo her fathers' event for.....:FRA I'm presuming a French mother.

* Antonio Pettigrew drugs ban from 1997, which took an absurdly long time to confirm.  The boys finally got their medals at the London DL this summer.

Why is Crouser the favorite for gold for bookmaker if he hasn't thrown a single shot this year? Are there any secret information about his current form?

Her mum is Elsa Devassoigne who competed for :FRA at the 1992 and 1996 Games in the 4x400m relay.

If he is fit enough to start, one can imagine he is the favourite. The only question is if he is fit enough..

Meanwhile, for those who want a shot at a nice bit of prize money (without needing to pay anything), the traditional, long-standing and well-known Atstat contests are here again :cheer:

https://www.atstat.org/contest/

In contest 1, you have to predict all medal winners. In contest 2, you select the 20 biggest favourites and gain as many points as you can. Obviously enter before tomorrow night.

If he weren't healthy, would he give Kovacs a spot? I don't know what their relationship is it.

yeah, I don't think the USA would let Kovacs out of the team if Crouser isn't fit enough (during the DL Finals our TV commentators said that they were told Crouser was doing quite well in training in that period...what "doing well" means, who knows it? :dunno:)
