This womens high jump event is great , I do wonder if these records are fair with the surface though.but what do I know

It's not like under the surface are springs, it's not their fault that some stadium had horrible stiff surfaces, where the jumps hurt your feet, so it's completely OK

I guess tracks are built they can be tweaked for jumpers, sprinters or distance runners, so you might argue that it's fair that every now & jumpers get a track that is just for them.

That's fair I guess, I suppose the jumpers are never focused on when making tracks

And there are plenty of these city centre meets held every season, not just at DL level, so it all evens out.
