This sport should not be olympic , few countries play it ...besides no women category

There are plenty of sports only few countries play. There would be 5to6 sports remain, if you want to see sports played in the major part of the world. Swimming is not played in most part of the Africa etc....

once again you're showing your ignorance

there's plenty of Countries playing baseball, even if the very best are just a bunch (like in most sports...as if in basketball for instance there were no difference between the top 4/5 teams in the world and the rest of them)

and also women's baseball exists, even if wbsc prefers to keep softball as the women's version because there are more girls playing that and venues are less expensive

ps if there's a boring team sport, that's soccer

Baseball has good enough depth to be included at the Olympics, it's on a similar level as field hockey/rugby sevens/water polo. What holds it back is venue costs and MLB refusing to let the players compete.

With that said, baseball definitely has an African depth problem. WBSC has been working hard on developing sport on the continent which is a lot more than what water polo has done.

I did just see an article yesterday about Water Polo 4x4, which would be an attempt to reach out to other nations...not sure how that would go.

Not sure how effective that will be. Baseball5 brings down the cost of equipment and venue requirements. Water polo I assume will still need a pool so it'll essentially be water polo with fewer people.

    • c'mon! stop those idiots! they're trying hard to ruin athletics in almost every aspect (road running, field events, the same cross country that has already been killed in practice)   please, someone shoot to death Coe and his accolades as soon as possible!!!
    • That's only if they don't listen to Trump's 48 hour deadline. But that is permanently 48 hours away, since, well, TACO.
    • I agree NO to Poomsae!!!   I think they plan to introduce 6 weight classes after LA instead of 8 right now, and those 6 should become Olympic instead of current 4 weights. Going forward world and Olympic ranking could be identical.    But it’s not clear if that means more quotas. Having 6 classes with 64 athletes per gender would be a joke. A reasonable taekwondo competition needs at least 16 athletes per weightclass. But I am not sure taekwondo can get another 64 quotas in total, I doubt it.    beside that I am not happy with the newly proposed weight classes, they give much more focus on light weight athletes, which will be an advantage for Asian countries mainly.    if the proposal is accepted the new weightclasses will be:    Female: 46kg, 51kg, 57kg, 63kg,70kg and +70kg    Male: 54kg, 60kg, 67kg,74kg, 82kg, +82kg
