Also a fun fact (unless you're Canadian): This is the first time a Canadian team featuring Sidney Crosby has failed to win a gold medal since 2006

I am Canadian and I did in fact not find this fact fun.

this US team!!! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

p.s. gotta tell you...the USA have won the world hockey champs among the men only twice, and one of those wins were actually the 1960 Olympic Games

the only "standalone" world title for them came in 1933...yes, guys! you read it correctly: 1933...good 92 years ago :yikes:

and guess what also happened in 1933? Oh, yes! you're right! an ordinary man with moustache was crowned (that time, up North in Germany)  :pope: :yikes:

do you notice some similarities with 2025?   :yikes:

Hmm, didn't knew that :SUI Switzerland have been so good at hockey :mumble: They have been waltzing the whole tournament from what i see. Are they actually really good, or it's the usual case of the best players not doing the IIHF WC? :d A.k.a are they in contention for the Olympic title in 8 months?

Yes, compared to other countries, Switzerland has most of their top NHL players here. The only notable guy missing is their best defenseman, Roman Josi, who's injured right now. However, this year, most of the top countries had a good amount of their top players here with this being the year before the Olympics so what Switzerland has been doing is very impressive.

Next year, an Olympic title would probably not be realistic with all the best NHL players playing but they will definitely be in medal contention. They're definitely one of the teams that's given Canada the most trouble during their Olympic games. They'll have a very good top line and defense.

:SUI is :CAN kryptonite.

They aren’t usually in one of the strongest teams, but over the past two decades they have been a team that can upset anyone on a good day.

I don’t think they are a contender in Milan, but it wouldn’t be totally shocking for them to win a medal.
