Anders Johnson and Cedrik Brunet are provisionally qualified in the men's 500m. Dubreuil won the race but is already pre-qualified.

Johnson is more or less guaranteed but Brunet will need to wait

There's 7 quotas, and the 3rd spot in the men's 500m is 8th priority. Jan-Bloemen will be in the men's 5000m/10000m so I think he's qualified.

We have a matrix too, we’re a big boy speed skating country just like the Netherlands :D

Yeah, the Dutch trials are must see viewing with huge crowds and top notch production values... and ours is on a stream with 26 people watching and appears to be shot on oversaturated security cameras!

Honestly I think I like watching the Dutch speed skating trials more than watching Olympic speed skating. A bit similar to how I like the Canadian curling trials (for men’s and women’s, less so for mixed doubles) more than the Olympics.

Can definitely see that. Typically have big lively crowds and a ton of urgency for those respective trials... and Olympic curling doesn't have much urgency until the playoffs, and the crowds tend to be smaller and disengaged.

Hopefully being back in Europe at least the speed skating crowds should be a bit more lively and get more travelling fans, it's been awhile since we've had that.
