Slow medal chance day but a lot happening. Of course the beach volleyball match will be of interest.

Or not. Expecting another quarterfinal loss for them as usual :facepalm:

Tomorrow I will be very busy, at least all morning. Probably best that it's a slow day and for me to step back for a bit. The last two days have been rough (besides Camryn, of course!)

We appreciate your enthusiasm.  It has been tough.  I was so hoping for medal in 3x3 and or men's basketball.  They came up flat against France today.  Yay ffor Rogers  I really hope in breaking, Kate Vincent, our distance runner, I think we have another runner Not including Andre and the boys. who reasonably could win medals.  All the predictions have Andre and the boys off the podium in all lthe short distances.  I think there is one more medal chance in the canoe or kayak?   and was Canada favoured by some to win a medal in synchro?  (Duets?)  I thought there was also one more lady in track or field who was considered a potential medal threat.  I will have to check beach volleyball (ladies).

Kafadar lost 0-2 to Stojkovic in the women’s 49kg round of 16. She was 5-1 up in the 2nd period

Still a decent showing in her Olympic debut, hopefully there’s more to come from her.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
