Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024 Medal Count

Recommended Posts

So it will be 40-40 in the end because the US lost in wrestling and losing in volleyball. The US will take over with the last event, women's basketball.

Yep. Insane narrative material here in Paris, good for journalists.

Barring an absolute miracle in the omnium NZ will finish up with 10 golds, 7 silver and 2 bronze for a total of 19. Amazing to think in April predictors were giving us 9.

Oops take that back add another bronze and 20 medals overall.

Jennifer Valente on top of the omnium with 144 points after the points race. This medals race is going to be decided by the women’s basketball final between the United States and France

Fishy as - something has to be changed, one nation winning everything isnt way to attract more athletes and so on. It collides with IOC basic principles.

Whole system must be changed to give an equal opportunities. Diving today is based only on a battle for bronze, nothing more. If that situation happens once, nothing strange.

If that situation repeats all the time, then something needs to be done or changed.

With respect that is not the meaning of fishy. Will you be calling for changes in other sports where one country dominates, e.g. women's basketball?

    • poir Madsen had a very unlucky debut at the CWC he seriously injured himself (dislocated shoulder and possible concussion) in an attempt to save a boundary in the very early stages of Today' match vs Scotland   moreover, Italy lost badly against the Scots, allowing them to score 207 runs in the 1st innings (it took 14 overs to get the 1st wicket) and going well short chasing that score (we immediately saw that today wasn't the day when our lead batsman went out at the very 1st ball thanks to an amazing but improbable catch by a Scottish fielder)   in all this, a couple of highlights to be recorded: Hasan Ali with a very efficient bowling performance (5.25 economy, 1 wicket) and Harry Manenti with good 52 runs in just over 30 balls with the bat
    • The Italian team has already achieved a better result than the Chinese team in 2022 at home. The Italian team has made enormous progress since 2023, when we were still losing to Korea and Poland. Of course, this is mainly due to naturalizations, but China did the same. It's one of the few sports that have made significant progress before these Olympics and this is how it should be in most disciplines at home games.
    • change with given the WBC rosters    ps you forgot (I'd put them at no.5, however)
    • will get bronze.  are going to struggle to come back from such an horrible performance today.
