Very happy for  Christou making the 100 backstroke final after being so close in Tokyo and missing out 

 

He has a huge chance to make history in the final with a medal but it will be very difficult...

 

Also very sad for  Makrygiannis coming in 9th, missing the final by 0.02 seconds . So close to having two Greek finalists! However he is young and if he can keep improving then we may see him in the final in 2028

Looks like  Gorbenko peaked at the Mare Nostrum competition this year. She's out of the 400m IM final. So is last years world championship bronze medallist  Forrester.

As expected, the men's 800m freestyle heats were a complete bloodbath. Despite the slow pool, 7:44.59 was required to make the final.
