You should wait with your judgement until after his first swim. Marchand, Fallon and the Japanese guys also didn’t swim so far.

I will go on about it until doping is eradicated.

That will obviously never happen. If you want fair Sport, you should demand that doping becomes legal.

Individual finals after the first 4 events (men’s 400 free, women’s 400 free, women’s 100 fly, men’s 100 breast):

:GER 6

:USA 6

:AUS 5

:CHN 3

:BRA 2

:NED 2

:CAN 2

:NZL 1

:ITA 1

:KOR 1

:GBR 1

:SWE 1

:JPN 1

Germany with more finals than all the remaining European countries combined.

-> Germany confirmed as a new swimming superpower

Too bad that it will rapidly go downhill from now on …

She is a convicted cheater, unlike the Chinese swimmers. Surprisingly the Australian team welcomed her back with open arms. Really inspiring that she came back faster after she stopped doping … makes you question why she did it in the first place? Obviously she is faster without doping …

Really happy to see :USA Matt King win a gold medal (as a prelim swimmer in the men's 4x100m free). He's from just up the road from where I live.

    • Also it being illegal in France means the IOC will have to test everyone pre arriving at 2030 and can’t wait till they arrive at the Games to do so. I’m sure at 2028 for some sports testing will happen on site if it’s not a rule of its governing body for non Olympic events. So far only a few sports like Athletics and Boxing have that rule - I suspect others will adopt it but others might take time.
    • https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/articles/cpwj78lxypro ‘In France - one of a number of countries where genetic testing is illegal without a medical prescription due to privacy laws - the government has condemned the decision as "a step backwards". "It defines the female sex without taking into account the biological specificities of intersex individuals, whose sexual characteristics present natural variations, leading to a reductive and potentially stigmatising approach," claimed French Sports Minister Marina Ferrari.”   ‘A group of legal experts in human rights and sports have since expressed, external"urgent concern" about what they called "the regressive move toward genetic testing as a precondition of participation in women's sport" which they say "violate domestic and international laws that protect human rights and regulate the use of genetic testing and genetic information".  The group has called on athletes "to challenge the national or regional implementation of mandatory genetic sex testing, demanded by the IOC or international federations, before domestic courts, by invoking national or regional laws protecting human rights, prohibiting anti-discrimination, and regulating the use of genetic testing and genetic data".’   Domestic laws are more challenging for the IOC to deal with than CAS. Things could get complicated for a bit.
    • Except NOC’s and governing bodies have to still follow local laws. Particularly for Under 18’s there could certainly be domestic legal issues regarding associations paying for travel to other counties to circumvent a domestic ban. Child protection services don’t always act reasonable to attempts to break a domestic law.
