Aman won by technical superiority against Abakarov :yikes:

He was teched by Abakarov in world championships

@MHSN did you watch the bout? Aman was good but do you think Abakarov had a problem cutting weight & struggled physically??

Abakarov had lots of problems in his first match too, after that I was sure Aman will eat him alive. :p

I don't want to throw baseless accusations but there are lots of questions about last year World Championships. some wrestlers were probably heavier than what they supposed to be. specially some of 57kg medalists.

Congrats, Indian wrestling deserves a medal at least, Aman himself deserves it.

we have an entry in 57kg draw :d the only available wrestler, and he is now waiting for a ticket to make it to Paris in time tomorrow morning. and he got the best guy in the draw for the first round. I wouldn't accept the quota to be honest, even if he makes on the mat he will lose badly.

but today was good in general so far. Mohmadi had two easy wins but Esmaeili did something extraordinary and dominated the Olympic Champion Luis Orta.

That was a sweet revenge for this accident couple months ago

Sarlok was able to reach Paris or not as he forefeited his match.

And will be be eligible for Repechage in case Japanese reach finals?

he arrived in Paris today morning. still he couldn't make it to the weight-in room in time and got disqualified. (Iran wrestling federation asked UWW to give him an hour to arrive but they said no per rules)

he is disqualified and won't be able to wrestle in repechage tomorrow.

This definitely shows it was not just some silly mistake....what was the thought behind making it 2-day tournaments? That seems utterly awful for the health of everyone involved...

Actually, 2-day tournament is better for the health of the wrestlers as it gives them more time to recover between matches. Moreover, as UWW president said yesterday, they want wrestlers to compete closer to their natural body weight and not go for such drastic measures. Problem is that competing in a weight class that is 5-6kg below your natural body weight is the norm in wrestling. Situation becomes even more drastic when there are only 6 Olympic weight classes.

    • apparently the Japanese organizers rejected OCA's nice request    now OCA is ordering them to do so in a not-so-nice language https://oca.asia/media/attachments/memberships_subcommittee/5/Decision_-_103rd_OCA_EB_Meeting_5ypY8y4.pdf   the last line is very interesting   I knew this for a while, for example that's why Jujjtsu is included in all of OCA events (despite being the worst sport to watch) but good to see OCA admit this. so with the corrupt OCA you can buy your way in. how much they paid the OCA officials for this ?   OK I know Qatar is financially supporting Padel (and UAE is paying everything for Jujitsu) but who is behind Teqball?  ! I don't think Thailand can do that.
    • Important information on team Aerials.   There is no AIN`s team at the start list of the world cup despite of the fact that belorussians have enough athletes to have a team.   https://medias4.fis-ski.com/pdf/2026/FS/8119/2026FS8119SLF1.pdf
    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.
