Stadnik loses   What a sore loser once again, arguing and refusing to leave.

She defeated her sister in law 3 times in international competitions.

Her husband defeated our :IND Sushil Kumar , Bronze medalist at 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Lopez knew he already won the gold after beating his only possible opponent, that's why he was happy after the win. SF and final will be too easy for him.

I mean, barely half an hour before his semi he was spotted outside the building chilling and taking photos

The dude is impossible.

I believe that in cases of athletes competing at Games, procedures are faster than usual. Ofcourse, in case that diplomatic relations between Iran and France are good.

Anyhow, i will follow the outcome.

Some serbian media reported that Micic will be replaced by Azamat Tuskayev (Euro champ from 2020) but its a hoax based on some Instagram photos.

we knew Tuskaev started the process of changing nationality but it's probably too late for him and since our wrestling federation reported receiving the quota I highly doubt they are wrong.

No doubt. Official comitee of Serbia didnt say nothing so its a quota for Iran.

Some media reported that first bellow line was Egypt. :dunno:

By the way, I do find it kind of annoying how wrestling is so super obscure here, not even a single news item as far as I know exists about Lopez being 1 fight away from his 5th consecutive gold (which would be the first time ever any athlete in any sport does that in an individual event, come on). One I wrote, of course, but that's not nearly as big media as the big websites and papers. Should at the very least be worth a mention, I hope tonight they do so...

With some magic, they'll even show 5 seconds in the late night talk show, but I doubt it :p

Who is the favourite between Cao Liguo vs Fumita?

obviously Fumita :d Cao's win will be a huge huge surprise (not impossible though, nothing is impossible in Greco)

Cao had a dream draw and beat a couple of below average wrestlers on his way to the final. he probably couldn't survive a match if he was in the other half of the draw.

Could there be a worse draw for :POL Kułynycz? :(

Well, all our athletes have/had very bad draws here, with exception of Szymańska, but we know how it ended.

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
