Looks like Swimming Canada put a lot of resources into the breaststroke so we can have a great medley relay.

Too bad freestyle and to a lesser extent backstroke has regressed a bit. I still feel good about the prospect of a bronze medal, but surpassing Australia and the United States remains tough

China also looks difficult to beat if they get a backstroke swimmer

Molly Carlson leads after 2/4 dives in women’s 20m high diving, with 168.90 points. She’s 12.50 points clear of 3x reigning World Champion Rhiannan Iffland. Jessica MacCaulay is currently in third, but way behind the leading two divers (she’s 27.85 behind Carlson and 13.25 behind Iffland) and there’s not much separating her from the rest of the field.

A 1:58.08 for Smith - another potential swimmer for the 4x200m relay.

The women's 200m freestyle is another event that could be very competitive at Canadian trials (behind McIntosh of course). You've got the veterans like Smith, Harvey, Savard, Ruck and maybe Oleksiak alongside the next wave of talent like Jansen, Brousseau and Angove. And there's also Douthwright and O'Croinin that should be in the mix as well.

Not discrediting her, she’s certainly in the mix for a relay spot, but how is that time worth mentioning?

It’s faster than 3/4 of the relay times from the 2023 world championship.

Oh damn. I’m just mentioning it because 1:58 isn’t very fast compared to splits by other medal contending teams (China and United States, we’re not catching Australia). We’ll probably need two or three additional 1:57/1:56 spilts (in addition to McIntosh) at the Olympics in order to win bronze.
