Grassmarket 3,403 Posted June 6 #41 Share Posted June 6 Horrible day in the Dauphiné today with a huge crash on very wet roads, several riders taken to hospital & stage neutralised. Van Baarle & Kruijswijk seem to be the unlucky ones.

The men's time trial has been a really exciting contest over the past decade. Slovenia sadly has only one quota in men’s TT. They need to choose between Roglic or Pogacar or sb else

They redid the tarmac, which is a good thing, but it's too fresh so there's no grip when it rains - bizarrely, it's not worn enough. Still a bit freakish - in decent weather with dry tarmac it would have been a lovely surface.

The course seems to have a liege-y Ardennes quality. The profile might also suit a Ben Healy. Edited June 6 by mpjmcevoy

heywoodu 15,135 Posted June 9 #50 Share Posted June 9 Roglic in big trouble in the last kilometers of the Dauphiné. He has 1:02 on Jorgenson, but is losing time very quickly and can only afford under 20 seconds more in the last kilometer. .
