Poland had no luck which figures with our second-tier coach and well, Lewandowski might call it a day after Euro 2024 IF we actually get there.

:CRO :POR :POL :SCO

Place your bets on Poland finishing 4th in this group :p

Not gonna happen. A controlled leak by FIFA to see the reaction and the idea was quickly blasted by Klopp and Pochettino. More will follow IMO. Sin bin would be another reason for time wasting which would lead to probably 20 minutes of added time. At some point enough is enough.

Polish Ekstraklasa is back and we had a red card after 15 seconds of the first half :coffee: The team lost 0-6 with two own goals

Don't get fooled by the stats. Red card happened so fast the on screen clock wasn't even on yet...

Harry Kane moved from Tottenham and gave away the all time Premier league top scorer prize to Bayern Munich to win titles and individual prizes , but now Bayern is 8 pts short to Leverkusen in top of Bundesliga , out of German Cup,  lost German Super Cup and lost 1-0 to Lazio in UCL R16

Our NT coach became also coach of Naples

Yep...

our federation statement

The Slovak Football Association (SFZ) has decided to give national team coach Francesco Calzona permission to lead SSC Napoli until the end of the current season under pre-determined conditions.

1

Consent is limited in time to the period from 19.2. until SSC Napoli's last Serie A or Champions League game in the 2023/24 season.

2

The coach is obliged to comply with all contractual obligations arising from the valid contract with SFZ (Slovak Football Association).

3

The coach will always be available for the Slovak national football team, but not exclusively (whatever that means), during the international break dates of the national football teams determined by the international football calendar, including personal presence at the nomination press conference before the March matches of the Slovak national team.

To be fair, is being a national team coach really a full-time job outside of the periods where national teams don't play? :p

the media, professional and lay public rather worries the fact that the national team coach, moreover, a foreigner who can´t speak two words in Slovak, will be able to follow the adept players for the national team scattered all over the world (and these playing in Slovakia) during the regular club season in order to select the best 23 for the Euro. it is questionable I guess, especially considering if he will focus only on Naples and the Italian league in next months.

    • Yep. Not sure if it was the NOC or the biathlon federation (I assume the latter) that put him in the Livigno training 'world' with a former Italian biathlete as coach, but they can definitely also be blamed:  almost everyone involved in that shitshow got the motivation just sucked out of them by the methods and shitty atmosphere until they either retired or changed country

    • Lots of injuries, including often just pure bad-luck stuff like a fall from a set of stairs, illness, and of course the Sochi tragedy in 2014: one of her biathlon friends, young Julia Pieper, killed herself with a biathlon rifle early during the Olympics (she wasn't on the team, but was a training partner of both Preuss and Dahlmeier). Obviously a hard hit, which led to terrible Olympics for Preuss, with a DNF, awful results in her other individual races and a relay where she was the first runner for Germany, but fell early on, got snow in her rifle and broke a pole and ended up losing almost 3 minutes, which in turn resulted in Germany being off the podium for the first time ever.   After that came all the injuries and illness and everything. So glad to finally see her have her big individual global gold, that is so well deserved.
