A question: in female discus they more athletes with olympic standard, at least one. They will not nominate a 3rd athlete?

This is the provisional Olympic squad (so only athletes that have placed top 3, and have reached the OLY standard), athletes that will qualify through the Road to Paris rankings will get added after the qualification period finishes.

Never mind, I misread your reply @prso1000 :facepalm:

 

USATF prioritizes a top 3 finish at the Olympic Trials over Olympic standards. As soon as the qualification period is over, they go through the Road to Paris and check he three athletes that haven’t reached the standard to see if they’re within the rankings quotas. If not, they go down to 4th then 5th and so on…

In a team of world record holders, multiple world championships, a world leading sprint team, she is the peak. She looked like she was barely pushing but was miles ahead of the field and the world.
