As a part of the opening ceremony?

TISC shows usually take up a whole day, so I'm gonna go with 'no'. :p

Even if this special edition will likely use a different, and quite possibly shorter, format.

Then I suggest the break day of the Games for "the cultural events" and the winner of TISC on a stage of the Closing Cermeony.

In relation to the song contest, if the voting takes place prior to the Games and if songs are divided into groups, then you could have it spread over a number of days as a tournament. I am all for making it very different from standard TISC anyway so that might not be a bad thing.

Plus there might be scope for having matches. For example, Song A vs Song B. There could be a set number of jurors for each match, for example 10. So you can have a win, draw or loss. You could have a mini league or group format with knock-outs. And all the while it remains hidden who chose which entries. This is just a quick thought I had and lots of detail would still have to come, but thought it might be worth throwing out there. Makes it seem more like a sport and very distinct from TISC that way.

In case anyone is wondering, if really make every country ineligible that has participated in TISC at least once, 58 countries will be ineligible.

Top30 eligible countries per nominal GDP (I am using GDP because that might be the best indication of how big their music industry can be)

:JPN :KOR :KSA :TPE :THA :BEL :NGR :UAE :HKG :MAS

Hopefully at least some part of it, even with the knock-out system, can still be held in a live show format.

Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals could be held during one afternoon/evening for example.

We’re only 4 days into discussing this, and I already have a massive headache.

Here’s a draft of the charter I came up with for the games:

  1. Organization

    1. TBD

  2. Participation

    1. Participants must be registered members (hereby known as “users”) of Totallympics.

    2. A user must be an active member of the community in order to participate. An active member of the community is defined as a member who has participated in at least one discussion, or has participated in Totallympics sanctioned activities such as the Totallympics International Song Contest, or a Prediction Contest, within the past year.

    3. A user may be allowed special dispensation to participate in Totallympics Games if the community deems them eligible even if they do not fulfill the active user criteria; subject to the approval of the organizing committee.

    4. Participating users shall be respectful of all participants and officials.

    5. Participating users must be respectful when posting and discussing with other members on any of the Totallympics Games Thread.

    6. Users must meet all of the necessary eligibility requirements.

    7. If foul play is detected with respect to 7 (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), or (f) at any stage before, during or after the competition, the organising committee reserves the right to place the participation or result of that nation under review. These rules are not designed to exclude, only to ensure the Totallympics Games retain a distinct character, built upon a unique community atmosphere created by users of the forum.

  3. National Representation

    1. Users may represent one nation, and are not allowed to change affiliation under any circumstances after entering the games.

    2. A user may represent the nation of their birth, the nation they currently reside, the nation they are a citizen of, or the nation listed on their Totallympics profile.

    3. Violation of rules 3.a or 3.b will result in the disqualification of the user, and a voiding of their results. The user may continue to participate in the events and festivities of the games, but will no longer be considered an official entry.

  4. Event Program

    1. To be on the program an event must use an application, software, program, or activity that is reasonably available to most users.

    2. To be on the program an event must have at least 5 participants or more. In the event of a late withdrawal, an event may continue with 4 participants provided that all of the participants make the greatest possible effort to complete the event.

    3. Events must be conducted with the highest degree of organization possible.

    4. Failure of an event to meet criteria (a), (b), or (c) will lead to eviction from the program of the Totallympics Games.

  5. Amendments to the Totallympics Games Charter

    1. Amendments may be made to the Totallympics Games Charter.

    2. Amendments will be proposed by either the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games, or participants of the Totallympics Games.

    3. For an amendment to be approved, it must be passed by a simple majority vote of eligible voters. Eligible voters are defined as members of the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games, users who have participated in the Totallympics Games, users who are registered to compete in the Totallympics Games but have yet to compete, and moderators of Totallympics.

    4. Amendments may be changed from their original text, or discarded if a simple majority of eligible voters approve such action in a vote. Rules originally in the Totallympics Games Charter may also be subjected to the above actions.

If no one has an issue with these rules, I’ll add them to the first post.

Okay, so I have completed a full draft of the Totallympics Games Charter. I would like everyone to read over it, and give it either their approval or disapproval. I also welcome any recommended amendments to the rules. I’ll leave this open until Sunday.

  1. Organization

    1. The organizing committee of the Totallympics Games will be responsible for the planning, running, and promotion of the Totallympics Games.

    2. The organizing committee will act as the main authority of the Totallympics Games. Their decisions on all rules, participation, national representation, and event program disputes between participants or officials are final.

    3. Totallympics members have the right to ask for a majority vote on rule disputes or actions taken by the organization committee of the Totallympics Games that go against the Totallympics Games Charter.

    4. The organizing committee of the Totallympics Games shall be formed from members of Totallympics. Members of the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games must be active users in good standing with the community.

    5. Members of the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games will not be allowed official entries into events. They may compete in events as guest entries. Their results will not be counted as official.

    6. The organizing committee of the Totallympics Games will be assisted in the operation of individual events by the technical officials.

    7. Technical officials will assist the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games with the operation of a single event, but they may act as the technical official for more than one event. They will act as a representative for the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games for their assigned event. They will help draft the rules for the event they are assigned. They will act as the authority for all disputes for the event they are assigned.

    8. Technical officials decisions can be overturned by the organizing committee of the Totallympics Games if deemed unfair, cruel, or not in the spirit of the games.

    9. Technical officials are allowed to compete in the events they oversee, provided they do not have an unfair advantage over the other participants.

  2. Hosting

    1. The games shall not be hosted by one country, instead the games will be hosted by Totallympics through the shared contributions of its members.

    • I did not think it would happen again but... I created similar post for Paris - 2024 https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/27489-ain-athletes-qualification-for-paris-2024-olympic-games-and-reallocation-of-quotas-post1-updated-1507/#comments  I was not sure if that reallocations would really happen but the reality was even more serious than the expectations. According to this research 43% of the neutral statuses issued by the IFs were fake AIN  - https://razom22.com/neutrality-research/  And the figures are based on the IOC decisions - not on the evaluations by Ukrainian NOC or sport ministry. Right now the situation is absolutely unclear. As usually )) Some notes: 1. Russians will not reject quotas for 2026 as they did for 2024 in judo and wrestling. 2. AINERP may be more loyal to russians due to the new member - Watanabe. His federation issued AIN status to Melnikova who took part in the primaries of the russian ruling party, had phots with Z and e .t.c. 3. I do not expect a lot of reallocations becaues of the total small number of the rus/blr athletes in qualification events right now. 4. BUT, even with these small numbers we see that FIS allowed to compete several incompliant persons.        Short notes from the IOC statement before Paris - 2024:   1. IOC`s decisions to reject quotas are final. 2. IOC`s decisions to approve quotas are not final - new facts may lead to the rejection of invitation. 3. IOC`s decisions cannot be appealed - NOCs were not invited to the Games, so it is a good will to invite individual athletes... or not   russians Sports Athlete(s) Discipline Possible Reallocation NOC IOC Decision + IF reallocation if happened Figure skating Adeliia PETROSIAN Women's singles Stefania Yakovleva Confirmed by IOC Figure skating Petr GUMENNIK Men's singles Davide Lewton Brain Confirmed by IOC belorussians     Sports Athlete(s) Discipline Possible Reallocation NOC IOC Decision + IF reallocation if happened Figure skating Viktoriya SAFONOVA Women's singles Stefania Yakovleva Confirmed by IOC
    • I would say they will not be eligible. But it realy abotut the wording every federation has in its papers. World Aquatics changes their policies several times (especially after Mazepin "solved the issues" persoanlly - as witnessed one russian Olympic champion)   Inoirtnat notes on FIS decisions:   FIS points are frozen for ruissns and belorussians - so the situation is not so complicated for a lot of them. The list of the AIN`s is not final as the list from ISU was. It means that persons mau be not only removed from the list but added as well. I expect russians to try some freestyle applications before the stage in China, for example. FIS has not problems with the deny of visa or entris by the host countries. So they kept the possibility to close the doors for the russians for all the countries as ICF did. No sanctions for this, no removing events from the Olympic qualification list, no host changes,   * * * * * Here is the the relevant extract from FIS papers for Aerials tram event. What do you think?
