3 Countries shined in day #1: :EGY:JPN:ESP

they all reached 2 Gold Medal matches out of 6 events contested Today

meanwhile it was a complete disaster for :ITA with only 3 Bronze Medal matched reached by our athletes and only 1 of these finals is in the Kumite events

This is officially the worst Karate competition ever, maybe after all IOC has some valid reasons to not keep Karate in the Olympic program with this kind of terrible organization

They are trying a new scoring system, refs are apparently not familiar with it and BIG BIG mistakes happen a lot. I mean something like Blue lands a punch but they give a point to the red  I already saw two matches being replayed because of those kind of mistakes (that's what I'm aware of, the number is probably much more)

yeah, it's really a disaster

I don't know how they pretend to become a core sport at the Olympic Games (interview by Davide Benetello just yesterday on the Italian media) with such kind of a mess

from an :ITA perspective, just another disappointing day

Only Erminia Perfetto surprisingly reached the GMM, but all the other main contenders failed like their teammates yesterday

and I won't blame the awful refereeing and the messy organization for that, as also the guys who competed at the World Combat Games (some of them should have been here, actually) just flopped badly

we had a decent (but not extraordinary) season in the K1PL and Serie A tournaments, but when it really mattered, it's really an epic fail
