One GMM and one BMM for :ITA

but these team events are useless to me (especially Kata)

I just don't feel the same enthusiasm as for the Kumite events :pope:

Heh, amusingly if there is one karate event I'd like to see in the Olympics it would be the team kata xD

Kumite I couldn't care less for.

Kata* is just like watching Rhythmic Gymnastics and Artistic Swimming...it goes from boring to farcical...it's not even a sport, just entertainment...and not the kind I usually like :p

*and it's the same for all the Martial Arts, not only in Karate

and the :ITA disaster continues...:hairpull:

both the women and men's teams (the boys are the reigning champions) in Kumite have already been eliminated in the early rounds (even if the men could still enter the repechage for bronze if :JOR make it through to the GMM -currently they are playing their semifinal match vs :AZE)

high drama in the men's -75kg Kumite Gold Medal match, as local hero Gabor Harspataki was 3-2 down with a few seconds left when he looked to have pulled out a miracle and found a 3-point projection that would have given him the Gold Medal

but unfortunately for him, the final action came just outside the time limit, when the clock already had all 0s on and therefore :EGY Abdelaziz saved himself and won the gold medal

among the women, 3rd world title for :AZE Zaretska, but tbh it was quite a robbery, given what happened in the last 15 seconds of the match, when Quirici was denied at least 2 good yuko (the scored was tied 4-4 at that moment) that would have put her ahead with very few seconds left on the clock, before Zaretska scored the final point

so, just 1 silver and 3 bronze medals (2 in Kumite) for :ITA

and Tomorrow's team events won't change the general perspective of this championship for us: it's the worst performance since a very, very long time

a true disappointment, especially by the most consolidated "names" among our Kumite specialists  :hairpull:

more in general, we had another match ended with high drama like in the first session of the day: the great :FRA Steven Dacosta saved himself the gold medal exactly like Abdelaziz earlier, thanks to the final hit by :MNE Dulovic coming a fraction of a second too late

Tomorrow the World Championships end with the Team Events medal matches

the Individual events are over...and :EGY:FRA:JPN and :TUR all have won 2 Gold medals, meanwhile the remaining 4 titles went to :AZE:CHN:KAZ and :GRE

out of curiosity, if Karate was still an Olympic sport, :CHN:EGY:JPN and :TUR would have won an Olympic Gold, together with :TUR or :KAZ, :JPN or :AZE, :FRA or :GRE and :FRA or :EGY
