How is that bad for the sport?
I think it's a beauty of the sport!

I dont want old and/or fat people to win medals. If a 58 year old can win a medal, than its not a sport, thats a fact!

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

I didn't watch the showjumping this time.... @dcro would you say the course was a bit "easy" this time for an Olympic Games? Usually there are very few clear rounds.

Perhaps a bit easier than usual, but nothing too easy. Especially in 2nd round when time was tight.

For the Olympics I think it should always be a very tough test, tougher than anywhere :d

Its common knowledge. Skelton probably cant run one km without getting an heartattack, he cant be considered an athlete and if someone like him can win a medal, than jumping and all other equestrian events are not a sport.

Yet you would gladly accept the medals your country won in this "sport". Get a grip.

What? Please READ my comment before answering. It makes me really angry, you are wasting my time with your nonsense comments. I said that none equestrian event can be considered a sport and earlier i said that eventing shouldnt be an olympic discipline. Equestrian in general cant be considered a sport and therefore shouldnt be olympic, even formula 1 is more of a sport than equestrian.

Its really a shame that there is no way to downvote comment. You are deliberately wasting my time by writing complete nonsense, next time i will report your comment.

Britain sinking it's teeth into that second place and not letting go. Hard to imagine that 20 years ago in Atlanta they had 1 gold.

That's how to respond to a disaster.... if only our NOC would respond to a disaster in the same way :d

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
