:GBR Great Britain Team :GBR

Dressage

Fiona Bigwood (Orthilia)

Charlotte Dujardin (Valegro)

Carl Hester (Nip Tuck)

Spencer Wilton (Super Nova)

Eventing

William Fox-Pitt (Chilli Morning)

Kitty King (Ceylor)

Gemma Tattersall (Billy The Biz)

Isabelle Taylor (Allercombe Ellie)

Jumping

Ben Maher (Tic Tac)

Nick Skelton (Big Star)

John Whitaker (Ornellaia)
Michael Whitaker (Cassionato)

The average age of the jumping team is 51.75. :woot: Ben Maher is 33, but Skelton and Whitaker brothers 55+. Whitaker brothers actually won team jumping medal back in Los Angeles in 1984. John also won medals at the 1980 Alternative Olympics for boycotting nations. These two are like a great piece of history. :)

Brash and Mendoza ... ?

A lot of experience but on paper this team doesnt look too "frightening".

Edit: Sorry, just saw that both of Brash's horses are injured. Very sad for team GB to lose their best rider.

USA jumping team has been selected.

Lucy Davis (Barron)

Kent Farrington (Voyeur)

Beezie Madden (Cortes 'C')

McLain Ward (Azur)

Laura Kraut and Zeremonie are the reserves. I'm surprised that Lucy Davis and Barron got selected again, not the most reliable combination in the World.

Sad that Bloomberg, Springsteen and Kessler didnt get selected, they wouldve added a lot of glamour, but probably good for their medal chances?

Very sad for Ahlmann, he was in such a good shape recently. In the end we wouldnt have won a medal anyway, so this probably wont change much. I am also sad that Krieg and probably also Meredith wont make the team. We always compete with Beerbaum, Deußer, Ehning, Ahlmann and never win anything ...

Krieg was never a contender for selection. Apart from that a bit random World Cup qualifier win, he didn't show much.

Not too frightening, but GB was never a top favourite going into Rio (I would put NED, GER, USA and FRA ahead)... But note that Skelton and Big Star are back. Mendoza is a reserve.

Sold his horse. Even in an Olympic year he continued his long tradition of producing horses and selling them as soon as he can. I mean he's a great rider and all, but it's hard to take him seriously as a competitior with that attitude.

Good for their medal chances. :d Bloomberg is the only one of those three that had a chance.

Damn...

Also interesting that it's in Ermelo, a rubbish little town 10km from my own rubbish little town :d

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

    • Yep, confirmed.  We have Marcelletje for , Lindsay Vonn and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen for .   However, Vonn and Hirscher will be wild cards, so starting down with the Chileans and the Iranians in the first leg.  Snow conditions are good though.     Vonn, Hirscher & Braathen Returning To Racing At World Cup Opening - InTheSnow

    • GOLD FOR MOL/SØRUM!!!!    WOO HOO!!!      Phenomenal match this was, the Qataris played really well too (their ball control really let them down at the end though)   Probably one of the best finals I’ve ever watched (Hamburg Elite 16 in 2022 between Bryl/Łosiak and Meeuwsen/Brouwer was another)   What a grind it was from them to come back from down 10-13 down in set 3, also having to save 2 MP’s.
    • I will send my votes after my university exams.
    • I'm going to withdraw as a voting jury member. I definitely want to follow the contest, but I just need a short break from voting in the TISC. Thanks.
