M Giant Slalom in Solden cancelled

Did the fog get worse? I watched the first 30 or so and then went for a bike ride, thinking I'd get back, check the full run 1 results and get ready for run 2....now I see it's been cancelled after Zampa 2 (bib 47)..

Edit: very strong wind apparently, with only stronger wind being expected. Yeah, fair enough to cancel it then.

Of course the weather cancels the race, after all it was, ummm, start number 1 of the season...

At least this kind of weather as reason is slightly less depressing than the 'lack of snow' tragedies we are all causing more and more :p

Yes, the wind was starting to get very strong, and it culminated right during Adam Zampa´s run, in some parts it looked almost like a hurricane blew up, the poor guy was almost blown off the track , after his thankfully happy arrival at the finish line, the race was interrupted and as the wind only got worse and worse later, it was the only logical decision to cancel the race.

Following the success of the UCI Glasgow “All kinds of cycling all at once” meet this summer, the FIS propose a similar deal for their sports in 2028. Engadine :SUI & Lillehammer :NOR keen to host.

Great idea. We will not have FIS nordic skiing WCH in Zakopane though cause we don’t have alpine skiing venues here

Zakopane/Jesna could maybe do a dual bid for something like that?

Lillehammer and St. Mortiz are probably about the best hosts you could ask for though.
