Whatever "resource" means there.

Please do not tell me any other context in which it might be a resource.

Would it be correct to assume that you aren't familiar with the work of Ludwig Wittgenstein?

This is a brilliant reply (please don't edit it). I wanted to "give" you all the available smilies as a reaction, but sadly one can only react with one smiley at a time to a comment on this website.

Also: Maybe i am the only one with this problem, but recently this wesbite seems to be pretty slow when updating/showing new comments.

Just a bit (read parts of his two main works) but not a fan of him, anyone from the same branch or "analytic" philosophy in general.

It is very difficult for me to find an appropriate answer to this comment, but i will try:

1) How do you know that this is what he meant?

2) If you didn't ask him what he meant: What made you think that you could speak on his behalf?

3) Could you maybe post a link to the study that "proves" that people defe(ca)ting from North Korea are in such a bad state (health-wise) because North Korea uses human feces as fertilizer?

4) Where did i advocate for the use of human feces as fertilizer? (If i forgot that i wrote that, then please excuse my question)

5) Could you maybe post a link to a study that "proves" that using human feces as a fertilizer is bad for the body?

Thanks!

1) it was a pure guess, but I think I got it right this time.

2) it's a public forum, everybody is here to express their opinion and in this case, I've not been asked to stop speaking for him by the author of the post himself, which would be the only thing stopping me from commenting other people's words.

3) + 5) as I wrote, I'm not here to explain the whole question and I'm not going to do any reserch for anybody. If you're interested in the argument, I'm pretty sure you can find all the useful infos by yourself.

4) you wrote about the usage of human feces...my limited mind didn't go beyond that kind of use in that situation (which is already practiced) and I took it as the only option. Sorry if I misinterpreted your idea...a few more examples would have made things more clear, though.

Thanks, this whole discussion is very confusing for me. May i assume that you and phelps are the same person/speak on each other's behalf?

no, definitely not. :finger:

but maybe we've read something about that from the same (or comparable) sources.

Canada bans foreigners from buying houses for two years :coffee: Imagine if this happened in Poland, we would be blasted as xenophobes & racists but I doubt anyone uses the same comments for Trudeau's family empire :mumble:

New Zealand did that for quite a while, too.

tbh, this is a truly xenophobe and racist decision...and it doesn't make any difference where they take it.

it's disgusting. point.

I hope this is a joke? Obviously this is an absolutely logical decision by the canadian officials. If a large part of the native population of a country has no hope of ever owning land/property, then those people don't really have any reason to work hard. Allowing millions of rich asian foreigners to buy up land/property as an investment (often without ever living there), while a large part of the native population can't afford land/property is completely braindead.

Edit: I tried to look into what canadian people think about this and my first impression is that many are in favor of making it more difficult/impossible for foreign people to buy property, but:

1) There are exceptions in this new law that will still make it rather easy for foreign people to buy property.

2) The bigger problem seems to be that (canadian) investors are buying up properties.

Apparently many countries in the west are facing the same problems. The companies claim that there is a shortage of skilled workers, so the government feels the need to create a huge influx of "skilled" workers (while not creating remotely enough new housing and not banning investors from buying up all the existing properties) which then forces the local population to work for low wages while not being able to afford property. In the end the wealthiest people, the biggest corporations and the politicians that are in their pockets benefit and the rest of the population is fucked. At the same time media (controlled by politics and the wealthiest individuals) portrays anyone who mentions those things as racist/enemy of democracy, so people are afraid to speak up.

    • This might be unpopular but it would allow way more sports and quotas and cities to host at a lower cost.
    • I think Julia Tannheimer will continue to perform so well on the flatter courses in Ruhpolding and Antholz, which will suit her technique. Oberhof will be more exciting, the courses are very demanding, but quite comparable to the World Championships in Lenzerheide. That's why I'm really looking forward to Oberhof this season. Anyone who can cope well with the courses in Oberhof should also be able to run at the front at the World Championships.

    • Thanks for your predictions, they are very interesting.   But here it will be a different format. Combined events - pairs of athletes, one male/female will perform in downhill and other will perform in slalom. E.g. Team SUI 1 Odermatt plus Meillard.
    • Interesting (optimistic) predictions for GB. Don‘t See Them winning 5 golds (more than China and as many as Canada). I think 3 golds are more Realistic (Brookes + 2 in curling/skeleton). Especially gold for Bankes seems To be a rather optimistic prediction, given that Casta is 11 years younger and just beat Bankes.
