Nice surprise, but fully expect them to get thrashed in all their team matches unfortunately.

Unless Canada makes it to the semi-finals will only be one since the team event is single elimination now :P

The :USA qualifying a women's team also essentially guarantees that we will have a quota in women's single, since North America still has a dedicated quota.

Edward Ly won gold at the Pan American Cup (what a breakthrough for him) and Zhang Mo won the bronze medal (she beat defending Pan Am Games Champion Adriana Díaz on her way to the bronze).

Just took a look at the updated rankings, and apparently Edward Ly had shot up from 177 to 37 with that title :yikes:

Canada's Paris team for men has been finalized

Eugene Wang

Edward Ly

Jeremy Hazin (nice to see him bounce back after last year!)

Adding on to that, it looks like Eugene Wang and Edward Ly will be our representatives in the men’s singles event.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
