Pan American Games 2023

Recommended Posts

We used to joke about Brazil at the Olympics calling it "Bronzil" given the high number of bronze medals we won compared to the others. Now at the Pan American Games maybe we should change to "Pratil" because the number of silver (prata) medals have been far too much.

Spoiler

Maybe one day we'll finally be "Ouril"... :pope:

Anyone else feel like the pacing of the swim sessions has been reeeeeeeallly slow? One B + A final (including long introductions) followed by 10 minutes of medal ceremonies

That's the downside of having B finals, which are not as exciting as the semifinals we have in world competitions.

I've been following along on the live scores and its excruciatingly slow.

In the Brazilian transmission they explained that. The organization decided to prolong the gap between the events, giving some time to make the processes in a good way

I find it really hard to follow the all-around competition when I’m even the slightest bit tired. There’s just too much going on in that event.

I honestly didn't understand what happened in Flavia Saraiva's floor performance...

She's visibly tired, I'm glad they didn't put Rebeca in AA, it could have been a disaster.

Anyway, while this was happening, Brazil won a bronze medal in Diving, which is great since I thought we would leave empty-handed in this sport :yes

    • This is a wanted behaviour so that in desktop the space is better optimized, while in mobile its shorter. Did you have something else in your mind on how to fix the issue?
    • Yes, though it is weird that on my laptop, I see the shooting logo on both sides of the word...but on my mobile, the graphic only shows to the left of the word (and can't even swipe to see). But the issue of the banner going off screen is fixed.
    • Would a page like this fix that issue? (ignore the format, just check if that issue would be solved).
    • did send one athlete to the last edition, but she was only allowed to compete as a "guest" since they don't yet have an NOC.

    • Can you send me a link to the page you mean? Thanks
    • @Sindo One note...is there a way to make the top graphic a little smaller on mobile?  When I'm on my phone, the top graphic (the one that has the graphic+sport name) only shows the left half, but if you swipe right you see the rest...but that's different than the swiping right in the table...if you swipe right on the graphic, it makes white space appear underneath where the rest of the table might be.  Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Attached are screenshots from my phone.         (In my head, the Archery logo would be just screen width, and you could swipe the tables as it currently stands.)
