:PER Kimberly Garcia won the women's 20km Race Walk with a WR time of 1:12:26. In fact, 12 athletes did better than the previous world record...

Except that the was a mistake in the course and they didn't actually walk for 20km  They'll correct for the men's race, which was postponed by 1 hour.

Really? Someone find the imbeciles who had 6 years to measure the length of a 1k loop and failed miserably.

We have now reached the midway point of the Pan American Games. Let's take a look on how nations are performing relative to 2019. Of the 197 events completed, 175 were also held in 2019 (with some minor weight adjustments in boxing). Here's a table ranking how much better (or worse) a nation is performing.

:CAN 17 31 21 69 30 26 29 85 16
:MEX 22 14 28 64 35 19 25 79 15
:GUA 1 4 3 8 3 4 5 12 4

Meltdown for Satila in women’s C1. Fortunately, she still advances to the final

Course seems so hard + rainy and windy weather. Maybe we'll have some suprises in the finals.

And why did the referee didn’t stop the race after the first lap, when it was obvious the course was 200m short?

This might be the first time I’ve seen swimmers lapped in open water swimming.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
