JoshMartini007 2,536 Posted October 24, 2023 #1096 Share Posted October 24, 2023 Top 10 After Day 3 Nations Gold Silver Bronze Total 1. United States 41 18 24 83 2. Mexico 16 9 7 32 3. Canada 12 15 13 40 4. Brazil 7 13 15 35 5. Colombia 4 8 6 18 6. Cuba 3 2 2 7 7. Chile 2 7 6 15 8. Venezuela 2 4 2 8 9. Argentina 1 5 5 11 10. Dominican Republic 1 4 1 6 Argentina returns to the top 10 after winning their first gold medal, knocking off Peru. Venezuela drops two spots as they failed to win a gold medal today. Huge day for Mexico again as they snap up another 6 golds to extend their second place lead. Chile had a great day as they more than doubled their medal total. It was also a great day for Canada who almost doubled their total medal count. Josh
vinipereira 3,240 Posted October 24, 2023 #1097 Share Posted October 24, 2023 with 41 gold medals in 3 days, maybe they will get close to their all time record of 170 (1995)? It seems that at least they will surpass their best results since that record which was 122 gold medals in 2019.
JoshMartini007 2,536 Posted October 24, 2023 #1098 Share Posted October 24, 2023 The schedule has been favourable to the United States. I don't suspect they will get to 170. Over 122 gold is much more doable.
intoronto 5,638 Posted October 24, 2023 #1099 Share Posted October 24, 2023 Not sure how reliable this website is: https://www.sportstravelmagazine.com/pan-am-games-offer-exposure-for-team-usa-athletes/ "as the Pan Am Games are rumored to be moving to a new program to mirror the Olympic program starting in 2027." (they do state dressage won't be on the 2028 Olympic program, and we know that is incorrect)
Olympian1010 7,972 Posted October 24, 2023 #1100 Share Posted October 24, 2023 Kind of embarrassing that a content with such a thriving diving scene can't get more than 4 or 5 entries in synchronized competitions Josh 1 “Sport has the power to change the world.
