Welcome.

I am eligible for 55% income from employment insurance + 20% from my employer, so not too bad.

"Luckily" I will get yet 100% of salary in April as I have more than two weeks of unused "holidays" But I have to found new job quickly, now it will be very difficult as almost everything is closed...

Where you work?

In the entertainment industry

Concerts and tours, private shows, TV, backing vocals, song-writing & recording

All of that is literally gone for an uncertain amount of time.

I can only continue writing songs that I won't be recording in the nearest future.

In Slovenia we're in day 15 of quaranteen. Everything non basic is closed, no public transport, no gatherings. So we have quite some measures, but the masks are required as of today in all closed public spaces. The problem here is people just don't get the seriousness of the situation and enjoy their time off work in the sun...

If only people would do that while staying 1,5 or 2 meters away from each other, there wouldn't be that much of a problem (it would in fact be good, since now more than ever it's important to stay healthy and make sure you get a healthy dose of fresh air and such), but for some weird reason people feel the need to be physically close to each other outside

And the weather does not cooperate with us this time. Past 2 weekends were sunny and warm, so those tourist spots here were crowded. People just don't umderstand the concept of quarantene or social distancing

Do you mean if I can return to work? If yes, I can't return, my company have 22 stories in whole country and in next few days more than half of them will be probably closed because company is in deep crisis. If virus will spread so quick as now or even quicker before end of May then they will bankrupt...

I'm glad my job which I was supposed to start (at least the three-month traineeship) this week, but has been pushed back to 1 May for now, is in the field of psychological care...there's undoubtedly always going to be people needing that, even more after a crisis like this :hairpull:

Sure, but since we're still fighting the virus and the number one thing still remains social distancing...take a seat a few meters away please :p

    • I won't write about injuries (Fede) and non-sporting matters (Colturi), but the fact is that Italy has its worst start to the season in alpine skiing in over 10 years... Just one victory, and podiums- if any, they're mostly 3 places. We're also not leading in any of the season standings, no in the women's or men's categories. This isn't be it should be in an Olympic year in your country, where you're having your worst season in many years.
    • Plaisier blew 3 match darts and Ratajski comes back to win!
    • Yes, she was unlucky, but it could just as easily have happened during some training, like with Gut, etc. Brignone has been essentially injury-free throughout her long career, which is very rare in this sport. It's unfortunate that this happened after her best season ever and just 1 year before the Olympic Games in home, when she just missing of win the Olympic gold medal in her great career. With the gold in Cortina, she would have become a legend of Italian skiing, on par with Tomba. Now she's still the best Italian woman in history, but the miss of Olympic gold will likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
    • It sad to see this season, as I remember, that Fede last year was winning everywhere, when she competed and finished and now we haven't even managed a single podium in the giant slalom, and it'll probably stay that way until the end of the season. Without Fede and Bassino, unfortunately, we're out of good cards in this event. For me Goggia should probably skip the giant slalom at all, becouse she has no chance of a podium and she risks further injuries. If even Goggia finish 8th or 10th? What difference does it make? If she couldn't get a podium finish today with so many DNFs at the top skiers, she probably never do. Della Mea is OK this year, but let's be honest, she's not World Cup podium material. Overall, it's a sad picture, and we have a 0% chance of anything in Cortina unless a miracle happens in Brignone return.   We have two chances for Goggia in DH and SG + maybe a dark horse in Pirovano/Curtoni in SG. That's all. In technical events, we have a 0% chance for medal and that's sad. Our federation also lost Colturi in this situation... In any normal country, the head of such a federation should be dismissed for disciplinary reasons and this case should be investigated by the minister, or even the prime minister, but not in Italy...
    • Mikaela Shiffrin  off the podium today (Edit: Oops...I thought this was slalom, not Giant Slalom.).  Nina Astner  entered the 2nd run in 30th place, but had the best second run, jumping up 18 places to 12th.
    • Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel with a 5th place PB in Semmering GS!
    • Today RDC will defeat Senegal  and Tunisia 0-0 Nigeria
