On board !

52 years old man from Bratislava, funny enough he never left the country, but his son was a couple of weeks ago in Venezia. Even more funny his son´s tests were all negatives so far. https://www.aktuality.sk/clanok/767831/koronavirus-potvrdili-uz-aj-na-slovensku/

which caused a total mayhem,

  • starting Monday all flights to and from Italy will be banned until further notice
  • Authorities will immediately ban all visits in hospitals ! :yikes:, social houses, orphanages and prisons.
  • The Ministry of Education will ban all school excursions outside the Slovak Republic.

Also  Our authorities have been informed that two Slovaks are hospitalized in Bali, suspected of having a new coronavirus disease COVID-19.

In the meantime, the wife and son of the patient were taken to the Hospital and retested, their samples will be examined as a priority. The patient's son was in Venice from 14 to 15 February. Their exact results should be known in some 6-7 hours. To remember all previous tests of the son were negative and he is looking fine without any visible symptoms !

Any of the other 305 tests of examined peoples were all negative so far

So, there’s a huge shortage of testing kits in the California (and the greater US). The CDC’s first ones weren’t manufactured currently, and we won’t get replacements around Sunday/Monday. Some estimates say that up to 10,000 Californians could have already been exposed to coronavrius, and there’s multiple stories being run about hospitals discharging likely patients. I would expect to see a sizable jump in California soon, but who knows. You can’t trust most the reporting on this thing.

    • Finals are set    An all-Canadian final on the women’s side, as Team Homan looks to win their third title of the season (and improve to 18-1) against a hungry Team Einarson who have had a less than ideal start to the season, they were also the last Canadian team to beat Homan over a year ago (same event coincidentally), while on the men’s side it’ll be a battle between Olympic medalists as Team Mouat goes against Team Gushue!
    • Yeah, it was clear. But i repeat, we need it? I think no.

    • In the past the ISU has now allowed countries without a Federation to compete.
    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)
    • World Junior Championships ( Dushanbe)   Day #4 Medallists   women's -78kg Gold:  Brenda Olaya Silver:  Mathilda Sophie Niemeyer Bronze:  Eva Ronja Buddenkotte &  Dandara Camilo   women's +78kg Gold:  Lee Hyeon Ji Silver:  Celia Cancan Bronze:  Chihiro Yamaguchi &  Safa Soliman   men's -100kg Gold:  Mukhammadsodik Sodikov Silver:  Nozomu Miki Bronze:  Azhdar Baghirov &  Fares Mekhoukh   men's +100kg Gold:  Denis Batchaev Silver:  Kanan Nasibov Bronze:  Saba Kardava &  Ibrahim Tataroglu
    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
