I always try to polish up my French when watching the Parade. :p

The very little French I know comes from ceremonies, and the names of sports/equipment/dates on multi-sports website. Plus, like Spanish, some of the words are similar to their English counterparts.

It was Sydney when the 3 :TLS athletes entered the parade of nations as penultimate country under the Olympic flag with the biggest smiles I ever seen in my life ? This one moment I remember the most from this opening ceremony, It was just excelent

Sydney came just after the end of the War of Independence against Indonesia I think. That was a long/bloody conflict (as those usually are)

Yeah they adopted the new flag just before the Arab Spring I think...maybe after. It’s hard to keep track of the political comings and going’s of the Arab questions.

    • Likely Del Bosco. If you take into account all the freestyle disciplines, there are definitely 16 men that have a better chance at winning a medal than he does.
    • Very likely not. German women had 6 quota places to begin with, so the additional one would be the 7th. Only Dürr, Aicher and Weidle fulfilled our national standards. I guess they will nominate a 4th one for the team combination. But even using the 5th and 6th quota place would be a surprise. If they do, it will be for the team. Not to mention the 7th.   They will, however, for sure use the 4th male quota place and probably the 5th as well, if we should get it.

    • Because of Del Bosco or Wallasch? I know that Del Bosco got only 5 WC points this season. But he is probably the oldest one so may make the last Games in his career. Wallasch made 18 points this season .....
