What does everyone think??

It's probably the least BS list you'll ever find on the subject.

The guy actually put some thoughts and efforts on it . Crazy !

Edit; there are still some stuff that makes my eyes rolling for exemple:

Citation

American Football

Minor sport in: UK, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Japan, Nigeria and S.Korea, Thailand, Argentina

Except for the first two countries and maybe Brazil. I don' see how you could consider AF as a minor in sport in any of this country. Not even a fringe one tbh.

I guess, it has a lot to do with Superbowl repports, even if a lot of them threat it like a social event and not a sport's one.

A medium sport in the US is something like a billion dollar industry, that's not the case for T&F in the US :p

lol athletics is not more popular here than in the US, Canada, that's ridiculous,   I think if ask people the name of one argentine athlete, 8 out of 10 wouldn't be able to say one name.

Also american football is absolute fringe and horse racing isn't fringe, it's minor/medium.

Rugby League as a fringe sport in Spain and Kenya ?

Ok, that's complety BS. In Spain, the sport is about 5 teams around Valencia that plays like 3 or 4 games a year. And is currently not existing in Kenya.

I really like the methodology he offers, I'd like to know how he collected the datas though. Some (but not all) are really off.

What does everyone think??

I don't feel any of such list to be anywhere near correct, but, ok...

I see pretty strong mistakes for Poland - basketball is sadly not even a medium sport here, let alone major one.

Ice hockey also should be minor, I think

Athletics should be major sport, as should be handball.

And I really don't like how cricket and baseball are listed as number 4 and 5. I get for example Cricket is popular in India, but it doesn't mean it's globally popular (Important,as the site is called "biggest GLOBAL sports" - even if we take "medium" as remotely popular, the list itself shows it's only somewhat popular in 5 countries ( and baseball in only 4). Meanwhile later in the list are sports like  Formula 1 (popular in 18 countries) Athletics (22countries), Volleyball (13 countries) and Swimming which is popular in 11 countries is... 16th

And lastly, we don't know the methodology or how did they count the points. I think to get to the correct order, we should apply our own rules (for example 3 points for every country a sport is "dominant" in it should get 3 points, for being "huge" 2 points , for being "major" 1 point etc.) And then add the points up.

Maybe I'll actually do it later :d

My favourite Volleyball position: LIBERO. You ask why? Look here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyIOarNAONk

Haha. Badminton, ice hockey, snooker, rugby (apart from the World Cup), fencing, table tennis and so on barely even earn the name of 'fringe sport' in the Netherlands :p

Of course every single sport has a few followers here and there, but for most of them it's almost none. Football (duh) and cycling are definitely the biggest ones, probably the only ones I'd call 'major', together with speed skating.
