I think the reason is that it's generally preferable to have a fast shooter in the 1st leg, and especially in the prone shooting, where Hofer is quite slow. Now, I'm not saying I agree with the choice, because I don't. I think it's going to neutralize Giacomel's skiing skills in the 1st lap at least. I guess the idea is to try and set a very fast pace in the 1st leg, which is usually quite tactical, but I'm afraid that's going to force Giacomel to risk too much because he will feel he has to make some time somehow. Regardless, Italy must be on the podium tomorrow. I think that would be crucial for the following races as well. I think France is the clear favorite, but the other teams are not stronger than Italy on paper.

team put forward a much better effort against Canada than anyone was expecting, well done girls! After the win over Czechia earlier, could really see them winning bronze Final result, 4-0 over

In Europe we hand out penalties much more easily

In my opinion half of these calls shouldn’t even be called as penalties, women should be allowed to hit, but that’s IIHF rules for you For what it’s worth, even as a Canadian yes I completely agree

I watched only a part of the 1st period and just turned on now 10 minutes of the end of 3rd so I can´t really fairly judge

Thanks man. TOP 10 after a long time. I think she has shaped her form well for the Games. Let's see what other events. I wish she made TOP5 in one of the events. But Swedish were unbelievable today. I am also surprised by Kalin .
