When things come to China, there always be a lot of comments full of bias.

If the government hide the information about the virus from others, how do people from other country know the truth?

As I know, sars was from Feb. ended up around Jun., how do some people say it took the whole year?

As for the athletes from China, they are well protected than anyone, even though a normal people who wear a mask would't get infected, how could the athletes contaminate others?

 Hope China can stay strong

Several athletes were banned from 2014 youth Olympic in Nanjing because they came from West Africa due to Ebola crisis. Why should Chinese athletes get a free pass.

Because it has already spread to other countries and so saying "No, there's nothing happening" would be implausible for everyone in the world. However, making up numbers to make it seem like something is going on, but is not as bad as it actually is, is entirely possible in an authoritarian state like China or North Korea. Not saying that's what they're doing, nobody knows, but it's really not unthinkable and it wouldn't be the first time.

Take SARS: it started in November, but they only mentioned something to the WHO in February and (worse) pushed down on press even reporting about it inside China.

They shouldn't get a 'free pass'. They should, however, be allowed to freely compete - potentially after a certain amount in quarantaine. China messing up with Youth Olympic athletes (although them being 'youth' is of zero significance) shouldn't be a point of discussion in this issue.

Corona also started in December, and the word only got out in January.

Yes, although there does seem to be a significantly shorter time between 'first case(s)' and 'word getting out' than was the case with SARS. Too bad we don't have a user from Wuhan here, it's rather hard to even guess the credibility of all kinds of random people on social media who might as well post the most sensationalist things just to get more and more likes ("they're burning the dead by the hundreds in Wuhan!" is a prime example these days).

So... Chinese doctor/whistleblower Li Wenliang has succumbed to Coronavirus himself...

He sent out a warning about the virus to fellow medics on December 30th, for which he was forced to admit that he "made false comments" and "severly disturbed the social order".

    • Do you have short track, freestyle, snowboardcross, hockey x2? You'll definitely win 5-6 gold medals. If you want, I'll gladly sign now for Italy to win 5-6 gold medals in February... Canada has at least 3 girls competing for medals in the long distances, and we only have 1 Lollobirigida- also quite old.
    • team is seriously in shambles and I wouldn’t be surprised if we only win a few bronzes or slightly better at Milano-Cortina…   Our men are nonexistent, Dubreuil still is awful coming back from injury and nowhere near his 2021-22 form, he’d be lucky to get a top 16 finish. Jan-Bloemen is old and his 5,000m WC podium was a fluke, at best it’ll be a top 8 finish in each event. For the women, Weidemann won’t beat Groenewoud/Wiklund in the 5km/10km and Blondin with Groenewoud (probably, she beats her all the time) or Mangianello in the mass start, and Maltais can only aim for a minor medal at best. We don’t even have our team pursuit anymore, used to be by far the best and now we’re getting beaten by Netherlands/Japan…
    • A true champion- van der Poel came to Beijing for 2 gold medal, and he won 2 gold there, without worrying about other people from the Netherlands: Roest, Norway, or any other country. These are the kinds of people Italy lacks.
    • There's always someone who will show up there, but it's unlikely to be someone who'll win gold in Cortina. Ghiotto, on the other hand, in his best from a 1 or 2 ago, should be able to beat him quite confidently: Ghiotto beat Bergsma by at least 11-12 seconds in the 10km. If he's not in that form, he could just as easily lose to Semurunnyi or Lubineaud (sorry, if I write bad this 2 names).

    • TISC Annual 2025 - Voting Order & Provisional Grand Final Date     I have arranged a voting schedule for the upcoming TISC Annual 2025. Please see your jury's designated voting time in the table below. For convenience I have included a column showing the host country time in GMT and the local time for each jury based on their specific time-zone.   Please check to ensure the local time shown is correct as mistakes can happen!   Fortunately I have only had to make one swap to ensure every jury has a voting window within a reasonable time in their local time. That was achieved by swapping and . China will now vote in position #12 while moves to position #25.   For any juries who cannot personally deliver their votes during the live Grand Final, I will post their votes on their behalf.   Now that I have the voting schedule, I can begin work on the voting and scoreboard templates.   The provisional date I am setting for the Grand Final - Saturday 17th January. That's just under 3 weeks from now which I feel is necessary to allow enough time for me to fit in all the preparations around the holidays and an upcoming exam!     Session 1 Host Time (GMT) Local Time Jury Voting 09:00 10:00 Denmark 09:10 10:10 Sweden 09:20 10:20 Slovakia 09:30 16:30 Indonesia 09:40 09:40 Great Britain 09:50 10:50 Italy 10:00 11:00 Spain 10:10 15:10 Kazakhstan Break 10:20 - 12:00 GMT Session 2 Host Time Local Time Jury Voting 12:00 14:00 Ukraine 12:10 14:10 Bulgaria 12:20 13:20 Germany 12:30 20:30 China 12:40 13:40 France 12:50 18:20 India 13:00 14:00 Tunisia 13:10 13:10 Portugal 13:20 15:20 Greece Break 13:30 - 16:00 GMT Session 3 Host Time Local Time Jury Voting 16:00 18:00 Israel 16:10 17:10 Serbia 16:20 18:20 Romania 16:30 13:30 Brazil 16:40 17:40 Poland 16:50 10:50 Mexico 17:00 18:00 Netherlands 17:10 12:10 United States 17:20 18:20 Slovenia Break 17:30 - 19:00 GMT Session 4 Host Time Local Time Jury Voting 19:00 22:00 Turkey 19:10 20:10 Albania 19:20 20:20 Malta 19:30 19:30 Ireland 19:40 16:40 Argentina 19:50 21:50 Lithuania 20:00 14:00 Guatemala 20:10 12:10 Canada

    • Nathan Crumpton has not competed in skeleton since the 2022, is a sprinter now.  Carlos Maeder competed last time in alpine, is 47 now and skiied last april and was far outside being good enough.  is still possible.
