Swimming in the Seine is kinda of a sad running joke here since Jacques Chirac, then Paris Major, promised that he will personally swim in it after he cleans it. Which he obviously never did.

 

Hopefully, everything will be ok.

Back in the 30s there used to be regular swimming races in the Seine. People had different perceptions of risk in those days though.

Yeah, and back then, there were industries all over the place and zero fucks were given.

Doesn’t work with every sport every time, but with the Lottery funding system being 25 years old, we have got a lot of experience in managing an Olympic cycle & peaking at the right time.
