Athletics WA Diamond League 2020

The new provisional calendar for the 2020 Diamond League season:

 

In August:
14 Monaco
16 Gateshead
23 Stockholm

In September:
2 Lausanne
4 Brussels
6 Paris (tbc)
17 Rome/Naples
19 Shanghai

In October:
4 Eugene
9 Doha
17 second meeting in China (venue tba)

 

Also, no Diamond League points will be awarded at the events as there will not be a Diamond League Final.

Have a feeling the two Chinese meets are going to struggle to attract household names.

Probability the Italian meeting will be in Milan.

No no, there is one of the most important ways to qualify in the OG . Not all athletes can make the entry standart

The thing is it makes it be more about having a good enough manager to get you in big meets, instead of simply being good. Not sure about the exact numbers, but for example a high jumper could get more for a 2.24m in a big meet than a 2.31m in a small meet, that's just weird.

I think, thai it's true. Competition score is the one of the most stupid things in athletics. But can we do anything else?

    • This 400IM field is a joke  (besides MSH…)  
    • Marc Marquez with a horror start (saved it nicely though)....turns out it was because right before the start, he took off a tear-off from his visor, threw it away and it ended up under his own bike  
    • That was Friday though, yesterday was better (although a seagull was destroyed by Miller) and today so far has not had any problem at all luckily  
    • And a Dutch record for Nyls Korstanje behind him     
    • WR for  Noe Ponti in the 50m butterfly! 21.67! 
    • Well, Honda and Yamaha are getting pantsed this season even more but at least we have more geese in Phillip Island    
    • Sven Goran Eriksson probably had 1 year to live after the diagnosis but it was a good life or so it looked like - he traveled, for example, he was in Rome at the Lazio stadium in the spring. If he felt really bad, he probably wouldn't have traveled. I hope it's similar for Hoy, although unfortunately cancer with metastases to the guests can cause severe pain
