Well, that's at least understandable. But e.g. in Croatian league (and many other leagues too), when there is normal situation and the spectators are allowed, for most of the matches the host team is actually losing money, because the amount of money they have to spend on the stewards, police, emergency, firefighters etc. is bigger than the profit they gain.

:SVK football league will continue from 13th June. But only 5 rounds will be played...yep, talk about the suspense...Slovan Bratislava is already 10 points ahead of the 2nd ranked team...money, money, money

Anyway the teams are divided into 2 groups (For title) and (for relegation) the fun fact it was also decided that no one will be relegated this season...so try to discover the sense to play that relegation group lol...

Every team will play once each opponent of it´s group...Slovan with 3 home games and only 2 away :roflmao: All matches will be behind cloosed doors

1st round fixtures (June 13th)

Group for Title:

ŠK Slovan Bratislava - MFK Ružomberok
MŠK Žilina - FC Spartak Trnava
FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda - MFK Zemplín Michalovce

Group for (no)relegation:

AS Trenčín - FK Pohronie Žiar nad Hronom Dolná Ždaňa
FK Senica - ŠKF iClinic Sereď
FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce - FC Nitra

Polish Ekstraklasa returns next weekend and some streaming services from around the Europe have bought the rights to show some games live. Apparently Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Israel have bought the rights.

I see Direktesport lists three games on their site already:

https://www.direktesport.no/league/l/a886c544-d5c9-4e47-9056-5fa5940797a6

Lech - Legia is obvious Polish league classic, like Roma vs Juventus or Bayern vs Hamburg.

This sounds potentially interesting from a betting perspective, although there are no odds yet and one can imagine bookmakers will know this as well by the time odds are being put online, sadly :p

I read also Free Sports UK (FTA TV channel on satellite @ 28.2 East) bought the tv rights for the Polish Ekstraklasa...

Can you see who has the rights in Denmark? Haven't been able to find anything but Danish, Faroese and German football in the schedules.

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
