He's regressed and literally on trajectory to retire before he's even 23 lol..... People underestimate just how much work the NCAA is. Pretty common to see people putting up big numbers in May but fading by the middle of the Euro season. maestro and phelps 2 Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/21007-athletics-eaa-under-23-european-championships-2023/page/4/#findComment-560134 Share on other sites
phelps 7,741 Posted July 13, 2023 #32 Share Posted July 13, 2023 pretty much a disaster for so far from bad (the 100m boys) to worse (the 400m girls) only man to be saved, Kareem Mersal in the LJ competition (qualified to the final in 3rd place) Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/21007-athletics-eaa-under-23-european-championships-2023/page/4/#findComment-560137 Share on other sites
phelps 7,741 Posted July 13, 2023 #33 Share Posted July 13, 2023 and with another flop (Benati...he was running 46 secs dead as a under-18, he's still there...he hasn't improved in all of his junior and post-junior years ) I'm done with this thing... back on Sunday for Larissa, the rest isn't worth the waste of time Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/21007-athletics-eaa-under-23-european-championships-2023/page/4/#findComment-560139 Share on other sites
Werloc 3,171 Posted July 13, 2023 #34 Share Posted July 13, 2023 Keršulis delivered a final, but not in a convincing fashion at all. He ran sub 46 indoors, expected him to run comfortable 45.50s in summer. I remember seasons where everybody had to start every single weekend. Mykolas only threw in like three competitions before heading back to Lithuania. If there is anyone that could complain this year, it would be the heptathletes: Enok, Juškevičiūtė (LTU), Blaževica, Bačianskaitė (LTU) and all four of them are looking fine. Juškevičiūtė and Bačianskaitė will start in the Lithuanian championships in two weeks, but they've been looking well in their recent starts. Every country has a huge amount of young prospects, which for one reason or another don't reach the heights that we learn to expect from them. Yes, you can be happy for talented u18 athletes, but expecting them to dominate juniors and seniors is pretty much gambling, because we don't know what's going on in their lives and bodies to make conclusions on why something isn't working. Grassmarket 3,531 Posted July 13, 2023 #39 Share Posted July 13, 2023 Drama in the Women’s 5000m as Eloise Walker falls to pieces In the last 200m - heading for silver, legs went, overtaken, collapsed & got up again to finish fifth. Heroic effort. maestro, Jinzha and Josh 3 Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/21007-athletics-eaa-under-23-european-championships-2023/page/4/#findComment-560162 Share on other sites
Jinzha 702 Posted July 14, 2023 #40 Share Posted July 14, 2023 Great battle between Vanninen and Dokter in the heptathlon. Both can still take the win today! Vanninen used to be the strongest in this age group, but Dokter has really caught up and is working on a great heptathlon with 2 PBs already yesterday.
