Agree. They got it right at Beijing 2008 with the live onscreen punch-count but then took an immediate step back to their traditional crooked fight-rigging at London.

More here. For once the IOC does the right thing.

 

The International Olympic Committee has voted to strip the International Boxing Association of its status as the sport's world governing body.

 

The IOC's executive board recommended the move earlier in June after the IBA failed to meet set reforms following its 2019 suspension over governance issues and alleged corruption.

 

 

And then, at some time in the near future World Boxing - the heroic band of guerillas hiding deep in the mountains - will be recognised as the official body for Olympic boxing.

The IOC has refused to recognize the recent OCA elections, and its Ethics Commission intends to open an investigation. It will be interesting to see how the relationship between the two organizations develops.
